It may sound dumb, but if you make a move for "Jack" it may hurt your friendship with her, but I know that you have to know. This is the biggest hardship of growing up... relationships. You have to become vulnerable somewhat, yet still guarded. It's tough... and no one ever masters it. But you are young yet. Just talk to your friend. Start there.
